1987 Disney Dollars
Disney produced 2 series of the 1987 series. The first series was released at
Disneyland. The bill stated, "May be used as legal tender only at Disneyland". The
first printing consisted of 870,000 $1 bills and 176,000 $5 bills. They were printed
by DPI Printers in Battlecreek, Michigan, United States and Engraved by the U.S.
Banknote Corporation.
The second series the (1987A), released at both park, stated on the bill "May be used as legal tender only at Disneyland and
Walt Disney World". Additionally, the type of paper was changed to “unwatermarked” so that it would be more resistant in
Florida’s climate. The Serial number also addedd and th along with the “A” on the end.
